Privacy Policy

How information is handled when you use VoyageChoice.

Effective date: October 7, 2026.

VoyageChoice respects your privacy and aims to be transparent about how information is handled when you use VoyageChoice.com. This policy explains what may be collected, how it is used, which services may process it, and the choices available to you.

1. About VoyageChoice

VoyageChoice is an independent travel decision publication operated by Rahmansyah, an individual based in Indonesia. We publish research, comparisons, decision frameworks, and other editorial information to help travelers evaluate options. We are not a travel agency, tour operator, booking platform, or merchant of record. Transactions after following a third-party link take place on that party's website under its terms and privacy practices.

2. Information we collect

We do not provide visitor accounts, booking or checkout functions, public comments, or a contact form. We do not intentionally ask visitors to provide sensitive personal information through this site. If you email us, we receive your address and the information you choose to include so we can review and respond.

Our website infrastructure may process technical data needed to deliver, secure, and troubleshoot the site. If you accept optional analytics, our analytics providers may also process information such as:

  • pages and URLs viewed, visit times, and referring sites;
  • browser, device, operating-system, and screen information;
  • approximate location and traffic-source information;
  • interactions with comparison tools, related decisions, and merchant links; and
  • pseudonymous identifiers and technical diagnostic information.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, phone numbers, or free-text messages to analytics platforms.

3. Analytics

With your choice to accept optional analytics, we use these services to understand site use, evaluate content, identify problems, and improve performance:

Google Analytics

Google Analytics 4 is deployed through Google Tag Manager, our sole Google tagging layer. It may process browser, device, interaction, approximate-location, and technical information, and may use analytics cookies. Google processes this information under its applicable policies and terms. Our implementation measures site activity rather than identifying visitors by name.

PostHog and performance measurement

PostHog processes explicit page-view and decision-interaction events. It is currently configured without automatic capture, browser cookies or persistent storage, and session recording. Vercel Speed Insights measures site performance after analytics acceptance. We will update this policy if these practices materially change.

4. Cookies and similar technologies

Optional analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to distinguish visits and measure usage. Your acceptance or rejection is stored in your browser so we can remember it. You can change your choice through “Analytics preferences” in the footer, and your browser may let you block or delete cookies. Rejecting optional analytics does not prevent you from reading our editorial content or following merchant links.

5. Affiliate links and third-party merchants

Some pages link to third-party merchants, currently including Viator. If you follow an affiliate link, the merchant or its providers may use referral identifiers or cookies to attribute a qualifying booking to VoyageChoice. We may receive a commission. We do not process the booking or receive your payment-card details. The merchant's privacy policy and terms apply after you leave this site.

6. How we use information

We use information to operate and protect the site, respond to messages, understand useful pages and decision tools when analytics is accepted, improve navigation and content, measure outbound merchant interactions, diagnose errors, and comply with applicable obligations. We do not build individual traveler profiles for sale to third parties.

7. Affiliate compensation

VoyageChoice may receive compensation from qualifying transactions reached through certain merchant links. It supports site operations but does not determine our editorial recommendations, comparisons, or decision frameworks. Read our Affiliate Disclosure for more detail.

8. Information sharing

Hosting, analytics, performance-monitoring, security, and affiliate-attribution providers may process information to help us operate, measure, secure, and improve VoyageChoice under their respective terms and applicable law. We may also disclose information where reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, or to protect the rights and security of VoyageChoice and others.

9. Sale or sharing of personal information

VoyageChoice is not a data broker and does not sell visitor names, email addresses, or phone numbers. Privacy laws may define “sale,” “sharing,” personal information, or targeted advertising differently, including in relation to analytics or affiliate attribution. Where applicable law grants you rights concerning that processing, we will honor them.

10. Data retention

Our Google Analytics 4 settings retain detailed user and event data for two months with activity-based reset disabled; this does not govern most standard aggregated reports. On the PostHog Free plan, event data and metadata are guaranteed to remain available for one year, which is not a promise of deletion at one year. Other providers follow their own retention practices. We retain email correspondence as reasonably needed to address it and meet applicable obligations.

11. Data security

We use reasonable measures intended to protect information associated with VoyageChoice. No website, internet transmission, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure.

12. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or information about personal data, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Applicable rights may also cover sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. These rights are subject to legal limits and exceptions.

To make a request, email hello@voyagechoice.com with enough detail for us to understand it. You do not need a VoyageChoice account. You can withdraw analytics consent through the footer preference control.

13. International visitors

VoyageChoice is accessible internationally. Our website infrastructure and providers may process information outside the country where you access the site, where data-protection laws may differ.

14. Children's privacy

This site is for a general travel-planning audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through accounts or forms, which this site does not provide. If you believe a child has sent us information requiring action, please contact us.

15. Third-party websites

We do not control external websites or their privacy, security, content, or business practices. Review their policies before giving them information or completing a transaction.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our site, technology, providers, obligations, or information practices change. We will update the effective date above for material changes.

17. Contact
